Hong Kong Market grew out of stalls set up by Tibetan traders in the early 1980s and has since become Nagaland's most recognised shopping destination. Narrow lanes are lined with shops selling clothing, footwear, jewellery and electronics sourced largely from Myanmar, Thailand and China, and confident bargaining goes a long way here. Locals call it the state's fashion capital, and it remains a rite of passage for visitors keen to shop the way Dimapur residents do, alongside daily necessities and winter garments at low prices.
