Paranthe Wali Gali is a narrow lane in Chandni Chowk that has served stuffed parathas since the 1870s, when Pandit Gaya Prasad Paranthe Wale opened the first shop here. The lane once housed over twenty paratha shops, most run by the same extended family across several generations, and a handful of them continue to operate today. Parathas here are deep fried in ghee and stuffed with fillings ranging from classic potato and paneer to unusual choices like khoya and even banana. They are served with sweet and spicy chutneys, potato curry, and pickles on the side. The lane has hosted notable visitors over the decades, including Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, and remains one of Chandni Chowk's most recognisable food destinations.
