Nohkalikai Falls plunges nearly 340 metres into a turquoise pool below, making it the tallest plunge waterfall in India. The falls carry a local legend about a woman named Likai, adding an emotional weight to the dramatic setting. A short walk from the parking area leads to a cliffside viewpoint that frames the falls against the Khasi Hills. The sight is most powerful just after the monsoon, when the water runs full and the pool below glows a vivid blue green.
