Rasmancha is the oldest brick structure in Bishnupur, built in the early 1600s by Malla king Bir Hambir. A stepped pyramidal tower crowns a raised platform reached by a long staircase, ringed by smaller hut shaped turrets typical of Bengal architecture. It carries only faint lotus motif carving rather than the elaborate terracotta seen elsewhere in town and houses no idol of its own. Each year during Ras Purnima, deities from the town's temples are brought here for public display.
