The Submerged Temples of Old Bilaspur are remains of around 28 temples from the historic town that vanished under Gobind Sagar after the Bhakra Dam was completed in 1963. Each winter, as the reservoir's water level drops, stone shrines including the Ranganath temple cluster reappear along the exposed lakebed, offering a rare glimpse of Bilaspur's submerged heritage. Visibility depends on rainfall and reservoir management each year, so timing is worth checking locally before a visit.
