Gobind Sagar Lake

The vast reservoir bordering Bilaspur, formed by Bhakra Dam and named for Guru Gobind Singh.

Gobind Sagar Lake stretches along the edge of Bilaspur town, formed when the Bhakra Dam was built across the Sutlej and named in honour of the tenth Sikh guru, Gobind Singh. The reservoir ranks among India's largest manmade lakes and supports boating, water skiing, and seasonal fishing, drawing both casual visitors and adventure travellers. Its shifting water levels through the year also expose parts of the old, submerged town during winter, adding a layer of history to the scenery.
