Nirona Village

A craft village near Bhuj famous for rare Rogan art, copper bell making and lacquerwork.

Nirona Village, around 40 kilometres from Bhuj, is best known for Rogan art, a rare painting technique using heated castor oil and pigment that has survived through a single family across eight generations. Beyond Rogan art, the village is home to artisans practising copper bell making and traditional lacquerwork, with the Nirona Gram Hatt gathering several craft workshops under one roof. Visitors can watch artisans at work and purchase pieces directly, supporting crafts that have few remaining practitioners. It ranks among the most distinctive craft stops in the Kutch circuit.
