Borra Caves

Borra Caves, discovered in 1807 by geologist William King George, are the deepest natural caves in India and among the country's most significant limestone formations. Formed over roughly a million years, the caves reach a depth of around 705 meters and are filled with stalactite and stalagmite structures visible under natural skylight openings. A small Shiva temple sits just outside the entrance, tied to local legend about the caves' discovery, making this a near mandatory stop on any Araku trip.
