Virasat-e-Khalsa

Virasat-e-Khalsa is a large, architecturally striking museum built to mark the tricentenary of the Khalsa, and it now stands as one of Anandpur Sahib's most visited sites. Inside, galleries use murals, handicrafts, embroidery, sound, and storytelling to trace five hundred years of Sikh history, from Guru Nanak's teachings through to the formation of the Khalsa and beyond. The museum was announced by Parkash Singh Badal during the 1999 tricentenary celebrations and opened in 2011. Most visitors set aside a full afternoon to move through its extensive galleries at an unhurried pace.
