Jawahar Gate, also referred to as Amravati Fort, is a surviving piece of the city's Maratha-era fortifications. Its sturdy stone walls and arched gateway hint at a time when the structure held real strategic importance for the city. Today it stands amid heavy traffic on a busy thoroughfare, more a landmark to pass by than a destination to linger at, though history enthusiasts may still find value in its watchtowers and weathered masonry. It offers a tangible link to Amravati's growth under Ranoji Bhosale in the eighteenth century.
