Built in 1925 for the Bhonsale rulers of Akkalkot, the Akkalkot Palace is also known as Fatehsinh Mahal for the prince who commissioned it. Its first floor holds the Royal Armory Museum, a collection of swords, muskets, shields, and ceremonial weapons assembled by Fatehsinh III during his rule from 1894 to 1923. The building's clock tower and porch reflect the European tour that inspired its design, and the surrounding grounds once served as the royal cricket ground.
