Prahaladavarada Narasimha Temple stands at the centre of Lower Ahobilam and forms the starting point for most pilgrims visiting the Nava Narasimha circuit. The roughly 800 year old shrine sits within three concentric enclosures built in Vijayanagara style, with richly carved pillars in its Rangamantapam depicting musicians, divine figures, and mythical creatures. The main deity shows Narasimha in a calm, blessing form toward his devotee Prahlada. The temple hosts a major Brahmotsavam each February, drawing large crowds from across South India.
