Kroda Narasimha Temple stands roughly a kilometre from the principal shrine at Upper Ahobilam and commemorates the legend of Narasimha diving into the earth as a one horned boar to recover the Vedas and Bhumi Devi. The short walking distance from the main temple makes this one of the more accessible stops on the Nava Narasimha trail. A pond along the path is said to carry the reddish tint of the story's aftermath. The setting remains forested and quiet outside festival periods.
