Kharchi Puja
Kharchi Puja is one of Tripura's grandest festivals, a seven-day celebration rooted in the ancient traditions of the Tripuri people. Observed on the eighth day of the new moon in the month of Ashadha, it honours the Chaturdasha Devata, the fourteen guardian deities of the land. Centred at the historic Chaturdasha Devata Temple in Old Agartala, the festival blends Hindu and tribal practices, featuring sacred rituals, community feasts, traditional music, and a vibrant fair that draws visitors from across the Northeast.
